Profile of Sam Nicolosi
Sam is an Industry Skills Adviser employed by QMISolutions funded by the Australian Government under the Industry Skill Fund. Sam’s previous recent experience has been as Quality and Audit Coordinator, Business Development Manager for private registered training and community organisations that have a presence in the Logan and Marsden area. He comes to the Management Committee of VETIG with a wealth of industry and VET knowledge as the past General Manager of the Creative Industries Skills Council. Sam has an educational background in science, having both a science and education degree and vocational teaching experience. Sam has worked in secondary education, corrective services, TAFE and union organisations. He ran his own training consultancy business, was the Education Manager for the second largest TAFE in Queensland and was Senior Executive Officer of the task force that introduced the current competency based training system to Queensland.
Sam also holds other Board positions with Access Arts Incorporated and is on the industry advisory committee of a music training organisation. He has represented Queensland’s creative industries and light manufacturing industries on a number of state and national advisory committees including the national Cultural Sectorial Advisory Committee and the Surat Basin Workforce Development Taskforce.
