Neale has been involved in the VET sector for more than 30 years. During this time he has been a student, a trainer/ assessor, a campus manager, an RTO Manager, an industry consultant and contracted as an external consultant. Neale has a passion for competency based training with a firm belief that VET is a viable and beneficial career pathway for many people.
Neale has a background in agribusiness, banking/ finance, R&D, and management with roles including, the CEO of a couple of industry based not-for-profit groups including Qld Rural Industry Training Council (QRITC). He is now a self-employed consultant who provides volunteer support to numerous not-for-profit groups as well as generating income as a trainer/ assessor/ industry validator and moderator.
In recent years Neale has returned to study completing a Bachelor of Applied Management (2015) and a Diploma of Quality Auditing (2016), and is now enrolled in a Graduate Diploma of Adult and Vocational Education.
Neale has a goal of convincing the “powers that be” of the need for a single professional body for VET trainers/ assessors so that the industry remains robust, innovative, positive, flexible and resilient into the future. VET needs to remain a real choice for students seeking a career, despite the current adversity being experienced.
